I’m a big stickler for accurate 3D models in layouts. With today’s tighter mechanical integration it’s always useful to ensure clearances and if the exported model from ECAD is accurate as possible then there isn’t a chance that something could be placed wrong when added in MCAD. Plus, it adds an additional check with new landpatterns since MCAD software has better dimensioning tools. I’ve uploaded some basic component libraries to GrabCAD.
SMD Resistors
This library is your standard resistor assortment from R0201 to R1210. The mechanical data for these were pulled from Yageo’s AC Resistor Datasheet.
SMD Capacitors
MLCC Surface Mount Capacitors in the footprints 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210. Package sizes were generated from the drawings in the reference sheets below from Murata.Height codes in the file names are in hundredths of mm. Meaning C1210_270.step is a 1210 Capacitor with a height of 2.70mm
